Colonial Oaks in Sarasota is a residential neighborhood and homeowners’ association located in a quiet corner of Fruitville, an area that was once mostly dedicated to agriculture.  This neighborhood is a short drive away from the downtown Sarasota arts district, featuring easy access to I-75.

Most of the homes at Colonial Oaks are designed in the Mediterranean style.  Typical Southwest Florida touches like high ceilings, screened lanais, lush landscaping, tiled floors, and waterfront views among the many lakes that dot the neighborhood.  There are less than 60 homes to choose from, with prices ranging from $137,500 for a three-bedroom and two-bathroom home resting on 1,103 square feet and surrounded by lush landscaping.  A home with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, screened lanai overlooking a small lake, and 2,827 square feet of living space can be negotiated for just under $239,500.

Colonial Oaks has many amenities for the entire family to enjoy.  A Sarasota County park featuring playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, as well as picnic areas and meeting spaces, is located within walking distance of all homes.  A commercial thoroughfare, Bee Ridge Road, is just south of the neighborhood.  Many shopping and dining venues can be found in the commercial plazas located along Bee Ridge.  Students will find Brentwood Elementary, McIntosh Middle and Sarasota High located near Colonial Oaks.

The prime location and affordability of Colonial Oaks attracts many house hunters, even though listings are not so common.
