Grove Pointe in Sarasota, is a pleasant and attractive neighborhood that is perfect for families looking for a permanent place to settle. This subdivision was developed in the late 20th century, but it did not adhere too strictly to Mediterranean style that was in vogue at the time; the home design of Grove Pointe borrows equally from the Florida ranch and Mediterranean revival styles.
Grove Pointe can be accessed from Proctor Road, just west of I-75, or from Gantt Road just north of Ashton. This is the eastern section of Bee Ridge, and it is conveniently located near public schools, parks and various shopping districts. This neighborhood features three and four-bedroom homes larger than 1,800 square feet.
Grove Pointe will mainly appeal to first-time home buyers and property investors who plan on holding on to their homes for a few years. Generous lots provide plenty of front yard and back patio space, and thus a few properties have been upgraded with playgrounds, swimming pools, outdoor kitchens, wet bars, and covered Florida rooms. With minimal cross traffic and lush landscaping, this neighborhood is great for families who allow their children to play outside and ride their bikes. Some homes face a large interior lake.
In terms of location, Grove Pointe residents only have to drive a few minutes to reach suburban comforts such as Publix, Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, etc. Siesta Key Beach is less than 25 minutes away, and Downtown Sarasota is even closer. The University Town Center shopping and entertainment district is 15 minutes away, and Bradenton can be reached in less than 30 minutes.
The downturn of the housing market a few years ago did not affect Grove Pointe too much. Property prices have appreciated gradually, and they start around $300K. Buying a home in this neighborhood may require patience and expertise from a knowledgeable real estate professional.
