The city of Venice in Sarasota County is turning into one of the most promising regional housing markets in Southwest Florida. With residential developments such as Islandwalk at the West Villages, it is easy to see why the “City on the Gulf” is leading the real estate renaissance of the Sunshine State.
Islandwalk at the West Villages is being developed and maintained by DiVosta, a home builder that is owned by the Pulte Group. DiVosta is known for creating resort-style communities that complement Florida’s natural beauty. There are various single-family residence and townhouse floor plans to choose from. Prices start around $195K for a Gray Mist model, which features three bedrooms and two bathrooms built on 1,392 square feet of living space. There are eight other luxurious floor plans to choose from, and five are available in 2013 to tour as model homes: Gray Mist, Vernon Hill, Cambridge, and Dunwoody Trail. This last model, which is priced under $305K, is a truly grand floor plan that must be seen.
All homes in this neighborhood have been developed following the strict Florida Green Building Coalition standards, which makes the neighborhood ecologically friendly and energy efficient. The center of the amenities is the large resort center, which has a full-time activities director. A lagoon-shaped resort pool and modern exercise center will appeal to active residents, who also have access to a basketball court, a dance and aerobics studio, eight tennis courts, Bocce ball, and a separate pool for swimming laps.
Islandwalk is located on a quiet stretch of the Tamiami Trail, just 10 minutes from I-75 and 15 minutes from the famous beaches of Venice. Shopping and dining options can be found at the Venice Shopping Center, which is only a short drive away. Young residents can attend Taylor Ranch Elementary, Venice Middle and Oak Park South High Schools.
