The various housing styles that can be appreciated at Sorrento Shores reflect the sensibility of residential architecture throughout the decades. Florida ranch-style houses compete next to Key West homes, and the newer Mediterranean design that is popular across Sarasota is also evident. The floor plans range from the modest to the stately; a three-bedroom and two-bathroom, 1,746 square foot home starts at $250,000. Despite being a hidden neighborhood, real estate activity in Sorrento Shores is always steady. At the end of January 2013, only 17 homes were on the market. There is an abundance of nearby schools near Sorrento Shores. Nokomis Elementary and Middle Schools serve the younger students, and Venice Senior High is not far away either. Suburban comforts such as shopping and dining are just a short drive away.
Fishing and boating are popular hobbies, but Sorrento Shores is also a great place for nature lovers thanks to the massive Oscar Scherer State Park next door, one of Florida’s most pristine reserves. Golf and tennis opportunities can be found across Sarasota and Manatee counties, and the white-sandy beaches of Florida’s Gulf Coast are within biking distance.
