Florida-based Lennar Corporation, one of the most successful and prolific home builders in the United States, recently purchased 172 acres in Lakewood Ranch. According to a news report by Josh Salman of the Bradenton Herald, the Lennar acquisition will break ground early next year and will be known as Bridgewater.
Lennar paid $6 million for the land. Following a recent trend observed in Lakewood Ranch real estate, Bridgewater will offer spacious floor plans. The single-family residences will have from three to six bedrooms, and the living spaces will start at 1,861 square feet, but the largest estates will occupy up to 3,800 square feet lots. Home prices at Bridgewater are expected to range from $200,000 to $500,000.
The land acquired by Lennar is located east of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard and just south of State Road 64 in southeast Manatee County. The Lakewood Ranch master planned community is one of the jewels of Southwest Florida real estate. Development of Lakewood Ranch began in the mid-1990s, and through the years it has become an example of sustainable residential construction and carefully planned community building.
Lakewood Ranch is home to many lakes, and to this extent Lennar plans to offer lakefront home sites as part of the 281 residences at Bridgewater. As with other developments by Lennar in Southwest Florida, Bridgewater will follow the green building standards that Lakewood Ranch is known for. The architectural style will more than likely follow the Mediterranean home design with Caribbean island home motifs that have become staples of Southwest Florida residences.
Home shoppers can also expect a good return on investment and value appreciation thanks to Lennar’s traditional touches of elegant cabinet work, granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, and more.
Other communities by Lennar in Southwest Florida include Cypress Falls in North Port, River Strand in Bradenton and Stoneybrook in Venice.
