Gillespie Park in Sarasota has the distinction of being one of the most historic neighborhoods as well as one of the most affordable.  Most single-family homes and multifamily units date back to the 1920s, and the Spanish-style architecture has been maintained across the community despite several renovations.  Affordability and historic appeal are not the only attractive characteristics of Gillespie Park; its unique zoning allows some residences to double as offices for self-employed professionals such as architects, accountants, real estate agents, etc.

Amenities at this park include tennis courts, a large playground, a pavilion, and a pond.  The neighborhood is within walking distance of Downtown Sarasota, which means that everything in terms of shopping, dining, entertainment, and culture is also just a short walk away.  The public schools serving Gillespie Park students are Alta Vista Elementary, Booker Middle and Booker High.
