National home builder Centex, part of the PulteGroup family of companies, was all set to develop a new residential community in Manatee County just before the downturn of the housing economy. In 2009, Centex was busy developing a new neighborhood located just west of I-75 and north of State Road 70 when conditions deteriorated and the housing market came to a standstill. The builder then made a business decision to halt construction until market conditions improved.
Now that home buyers are once again looking for great properties in Southwest Florida, Centex has completely developed The Reserve at Crossing Creek Bradenton. Two model homes were ready by July 2010, and the builder completed all 88 single-family residences in the neighborhood in just a few years. Centex selected two distinct floor plans to begin with: Vernon Hill Loft and Mendoza in the beginning building stage.
The Vernon Hill Loft features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a two car garage, and an upstairs loft built on 2,629 square feet. This floor plan has sold for right around $450,000. The two-storied Mendoza is more spacious and sumptuous; it offers a family room, a game room, four bedrooms, and a flex room on the ground floor that can double as a fifth bedroom or as a guest room with private bath. This community is just minutes away from shopping, entertainment, health care and business districts of South Bradenton on State Road 70.
