There was a time when the Sunrise Golf Club was one of a few communities that catered to golf enthusiasts in Sarasota. Those days, however, are long gone; the golf course has not operated as such in a few years, but the five subdivisions that make up this quiet neighborhood are still active in terms of real estate sales.

The Sunrise Golf Club is located south of Clark Road and west of I-75. There are more than 350 residences in this neighborhood; many of them are Florida ranch-style homes from then 1970s and the 1980s that have been remodeled in the last few years. The former fairways that surround this subdivision have grown into refreshing forest meadows; a three-bedroom and two-bathroom single-family home built on 1,604 square feet can be found listed at $262K. The homes in this community tend to be affordable and sell quickly.

The other subdivisions at the Sunrise Golf Club are low-rise condominiums, attached golf villas arranged into carriage homes, and a modern single-family home section with Mediterranean designs. Some of the subdivisions that feature villas and condominium units have amenities such as swimming pools, clubhouses and tennis courts.

Ever since the golf course ceased operating, families and first-time home buyers have become interested in this neighborhood; they enjoy the solitude provided by the expansive green areas and the numerous hiking trails, and they also like living very close to family-friendly attractions such as Twin Lakes Park and Livingston’s Amusement Center. Additionally, suburban comforts such as Publix and Bealls are located just a few minutes to the north. Essentially, the portion of Clark Road that runs from I-75 to Beneva Road is an extended commercial district.

Golf players can still find opportunities around this neighborhood; a few private and public courses are located just minutes away. The closest beach is in Siesta Key, which can be reached driving straight down Clark Road to the Stickney Point Bridge.

Due to the great location of this community, real estate listings tend to close fast. Sunrise Golf Club homeowners are typically uncompromising and prefer smooth transactions.
