Venice is more than just sandy beaches, gated communities, and the Historic Downtown District; this coastal Florida city is also dotted with a few established subdivisions that emerged in the late 1960s as a result of a construction boom that sought to avoid pigeonholing Venice as just another destination for tourists.
Located east of Jacaranda Boulevard and north of the Tamiami Trail, Venice East is a subdivision originally developed to attract international buyers. It only took about a decade to complete nearly 900 single-family residences, most of them Florida ranch-style homes with two, three, and four bedrooms. Some custom-made properties completed in the late 1990s were built in Spanish Colonial and Mediterranean revival styles.
Venice East is highly ideal for young families and first-time home buyers looking for a traditional neighborhood instead of a gated community. There is a homeowners association, but membership is optional and very affordable. Many of the homes here sit on spacious lots adorned with mature trees and lush greenbelt spaces. The section closer to the Venice East Golf Course has been set aside as a nature preserve and bird sanctuary.
In late 2024, you can move into Venice East for just $350K; this would get you a two-bedroom Florida ranch with two full bathrooms, 1,327 square feet of interior, a sun room, and a lot measuring more than 10,000 square feet. Many homes in this subdivision have been upgraded with private swimming pools, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, hurricane shutters, emergency power generators, and new roofs. Latest pricing at Venice East Venice will be found below if there is inventory.
Venice East is an ideal neighborhood for anglers, lovers of the outdoors, and golf players. Quite a few residents are members of the course across the road; at the Alligator Creek nature preserve next door, you can launch a kayak and enjoy numerous fishing spots. Caspersen Beach is less than 15 minutes away, and just about all your shopping can be done at the Venice Village Shoppes less than two miles west on the Tamiami Trail.
