Bean Point Anna Maria Island : Spectacular Homes for Sale

Anna Maria Island Rod and Reel PierThe tourism industry of Manatee County owes recognition to George Emerson Bean, the first developer of Anna Maria Island. In the early years of the 20th century, the Bean family was granted a homestead in Anna Maria Island, and they quickly realized the great potential that this part of Manatee County had in terms of attracting wealthy visitors. George Bean built the City Pier in 1911 for the purpose of allowing steamers filled with tourists to dock. The northernmost tip of the island is named after George Bean; it is where Palma Sola Bay and Passage Key Inlet converge with Tampa Bay, and it also where you can find some of the most spectacular real estate in Southwest Florida.

Bean Point Anna Maria Island is a public beach of white sands and sweeping views of the Gulf of Mexico. The beachfront homes along North Shore Drive are a diverse collection of cottages, Mediterranean revival mansions, Florida ranches, and various other architectural styles. A few properties are multifamily homes, and as of 2024 there were a couple of lots ready for construction. As you can expect, the homes located directly on the beach and facing the Gulf of Mexico tend to command higher sales prices, particularly the most lavish, but you can reasonably find two-bedroom condo starting around $630K. A three-bedroom Florida ranch just a few blocks away from the beach can be negotiated for less than $1.2 million. Latest pricing for Bean Point Anna Maria Island will be found below if there is inventory.

The Anna Maria Island housing market is more active than most people realize. If you work closely with your real estate agent, you will be able to find a great deal in Bean Point. Property investors should keep in mind that Anna Maria homes have great rental potential. Bean Point is dotted with many homes that have been converted into vacation condos as well as bed and breakfast arrangements. The southern boundary of Bean Point is crossed with saltwater canals that some homeowners have taken advantage of to build private docks and piers.

Although Bean Point Anna Maria Island is the most residential section of the island, tourism attractions such as the Rod and Reel Pier and its waterfront restaurant are frequented by visitors and residents alike. The center of the island and its small commercial district is about a mile to the south, and you can find many shopping and entertainment options in West Bradenton, located less than 20 minutes away.
