D.R. Horton, a residential developer known as “America’s Builder,” has not stopped creating choice gated communities in Manatee County. The latest project is Bella Lago Parrish, one of the most promising housing markets in Southwest Florida, and this is where smart home buyers are finding very attractive real estate opportunities in 2024.
Of the 23,918 new home permits issued in Manatee County since 2019, more than half will be completed in Parrish. Things are happening very quickly in this section north of the Manatee River; new public schools such as North River High and Barbara Harvey Elementary have recently opened, and the State College of Florida has also opened a regional campus here. Bella Lago Parrish is conveniently located between the new town center and Little Manatee River State Park; even though this section of Parrish has experienced residential and commercial development in recent years, this is still a low density area.
Considering that the properties at Bella Lago are brand-new D.R. Horton homes under builder’s warranty, pricing in August 2024 is among the most enticing in Florida. A contract for a four-bedroom home with two full bathrooms and 1,405 square feet of living space was signed for less than $410K. Completed properties with three bedrooms and more than 1,672 square feet of interior can still be found for about $375K. Most listings are for homes under construction, but they are being completed at a very fast pace, and you can certainly count on quick value appreciation. As the name of this neighborhood suggests, many of the properties here are arranged along the shores of scenic lakes. Amenities include a clubhouse with an exercise center, sports fields, a swimming pool, playground, and a covered area for grilling. Families will love living just minutes away from attractions such as the Florida Railroad Museum, which features train rides for children on the weekend, and Little Manatee River State Park. The closest shopping center is just a few minutes down Highway 301, but more stores are planned to open closer to Bella Lago next year. You can drive to Holmes Beach and Anna Maria Island in less than 45 minutes, and the Riverwalk district of Downtown Bradenton is just 20 minutes away.
