The closest beach is located just 15 minutes away in Nokomis, but many people prefer Venice Beach and its many attractions for visitors. A commercial plaza not far from the southern entrance of Bird Bay Village offers shopping options such as Big Lots, TJ Maxx, and Winn Dixie. When you are ready for a bike ride or a long walk, the Sarasota Legacy Trail can be accessed along the eastern boundary of the neighborhood.
