For a little over 25 years, Lakewood Ranch has provided high quality of life to home buyers in Manatee County, but the master-planned development recently expanded south into Sarasota County with the new Waterside Village, a new lifestyle concept that features upscale lakefront neighborhoods connected by nature trails and a vibrant town center. Waterside Village is where local developer David Weekley Homes is building Emerald Landing Waterside, a gated community that offers 193 townhouses and single-family homes overlooking Kingfisher Lake.

Emerald Landing Waterside is rolling out new home models by David Weekley. Similar to the Waterside Place town center and other gated communities in this village, the architectural style is American Coastal with a few elements of Mediterranean home design. This new look is perfect for lakeside neighborhoods, and it is enhanced with tropical landscaping and the kind of amenities you would expect to find at a Caribbean resort.

Development at Emerald Landing Waterside started in 2023 with new single-family homes with floor plans ranging from 1,496 to 3,193 square feet. The first phase of construction will focus on single-family residences with at least three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Development of townhouses and larger three-level “city home” models is expected to begin in 2024. If you are not familiar with the work of David Weekley, you should know that many of its home models have been honored with multiple Parade of Homes awards since the 1990s for excellence in design and quality construction.

Emerald Landing is one of the Waterside Village neighborhoods that will get a special dock for the water taxi service scheduled to launch before 2025. This ferry service will take residents to the Waterside Place town center for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The recreation center at Emerald Landing has a resort-style swimming pool with cabanas in addition to pickleball courts, a fire pit, and nature trails. When leaving from the main gate, your nearby shopping options include two new commercial plazas anchored by Publix supermarkets, and you can drive to Siesta Key Beach in just 25 minutes.
