Despite being less than a mile north of Manatee Avenue, this neighborhood is easy to miss because of the thick vegetation and sparse through traffic. Some sections of Harbor Hills Bradenton are hidden by magnificent rows of old Banyan trees and dense greenbelt spaces; others face the east and west sides of the Warner Bayou, thus providing nice waterfront views to lucky homeowners. As the name of this community indicates, many of the properties here sit on elevated lots that protect them from storm surge.
As a stately neighborhood with character, Harbor Hills does not feature tract housing or the cookie-cutter real estate atmosphere of modern gated communities. This is a subdivision where you can find imposing Mediterranean estates next to modest Florida ranch-style homes from the 1970s. Mature trees with thick canopies line many of the winding streets, and neighbors have access to a fishing pier and boat launch right on the bayou. Some properties have their own docking space and private piers.
Even though Harbor Hills feels like a secluded neighborhood, it is only 15 minutes away from Downtown Bradenton and the beaches of Anna Maria Island. The Westgate Shopping Center is only five minutes away, and Beachway Plaza is also nearby. This community is surrounded by natural attractions such as Robinson Preserve, Neal Preserve, Palma Sola Botanical Park, and Riverview Pointe.
Listings in Harbor Hills do not come on the market as often as buyers would like them to. In late-2024, a four-bedroom waterfront estate with a private swimming pool, breezeway leading to the dock, smart home automation system, and fireplace was sold for $2.5 million.
