Although its origins can be traced to some of the earliest European settlers in what would become the state of Florida, Parrish has managed to retain its peaceful character in spite of the changing times. In main, this is because Parrish was eclipsed by both Bradenton and Palmetto because of their importance to commercial shipping in the region. Something that is more beneficial than harmful to would-be homeowners.
First, Parrish’s peaceful character means that its homes retain an Old Florida charm that is hard to find and harder to replicate in modern times. Second, the Parrish real estate market is relative unknown in the Southwest Florida because of it’s peaceful character, meaning that most of its homes are that much more affordable than their counterparts elsewhere in the region. Combined with their spaciousness and closeness to nature, these characteristics make Parrish homes well-suited to would-be homeowners interested in a simpler and less closed-in existence.
Of course, Parrish has not stood still. Even though its real estate market is not as active as those in bigger and more populous communities situated throughout Southwest Florida, living in Parrish is popular enough to have spurred on all sorts of real estate development over the decades. Examples range from ranch homes of the 70s to more modern homes built according to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Key West styles. In fact, Parrish is even home to gated communities with sufficient space to host on-site nature preserves for the pleasure of their residents. Horse properties, condos, townhomes and plenty of vacant lots are also available.
Overall, Parrish is quieter than cities such as Bradenton but nonetheless comes with all of the amenities needed to support a comfort existence for its residents. There are schools for the children, more than enough of nature to support a range of outdoor activities, and convenient access to the amenities that can be found in the rest of Manatee County.
