The Palm Aire Country Club has played an important part in Sarasota’s modern history. In 1957, the Palm Aire golf course hosted the first PGA tournament to be televised; a young Arnold Palmer played along with legends Jackie Burke and Sam Snead. A couple of decades later, Palm Aire became one of the first country club communities in Southwest Florida.

These days, Palm Aire is consistently ranked as one of the best golf courses in Florida; moreover, its 31 residential communities feature some of the best real estate deals in Sarasota County. Such is the case with Timberlake at Palm Aire, a collection of 81 single-family homes arranged around a small lake and green areas.

Timberlake Village is one of the most secluded neighborhoods in Palm Aire. The neighborhood is located south of the golf course and to the west of Whitfield Avenue, not far from the Sarasota – Manatee county line. Many people who drive on Palm Aire Drive or Whitfield Avenue do not realize there is a subdivision hidden inside a nature preserve.

The homes of Timberlake Village are older Florida ranches from the early 1980s that feature two or three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. All homeowners enjoy large lots with two-car garages, front yards and patios. Many properties have been upgraded and remodeled over the years. Some homes enjoy lakefront views.

Membership in the Palm Aire Country Club is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended due to its prestige and numerous amenities. Timberlake Village residents are fortunate to live next door to Conservatory Park, a 55-acre nature preserve that offers hiking trails, a playground, a pavilion for picnics, a lake, and an observation deck. Similar to the neighborhood, not many people know about this park.

Residents of Timberlake at Palm Aire have a wide range of shopping and entertainment options less than a mile away at University Town Center, one of the best shopping districts in Southwest Florida.
