Woodlands of Bent Tree in Sarasota : Upscale Homes for Sale

Sarasota and Manatee Counties are known for their residential golf communities.  Some of the first golf communities in Florida were initially developed in the 1980s; such is the case with Bent Tree.  Many of these communities fell into disrepair during the housing crisis, but not Bent Tree.  In fact, Bent Tree underwent major renovations in 2010, at the same time when the Florida real estate market was languishing.

The Woodlands at Bent Tree is an upscale gated community made up of two neighborhoods.  There are 300 units within Woodlands I, a combination of 300 single-family homes, condominium units and maintenance-free villas.  Woodlands II is a more upscale neighborhood of single-family residences and sprawling estates.  The Woodlands are surrounded by lush landscaping, lakes and the fairways of the Bent Tree 18-hole golf course.

The Woodlands neighborhoods feature very expansive lots and residential construction.  It is typical for a three-bedroom and three-bathroom home to enjoy nearly 3,000 square feet of living space and be priced around $359K.  This plentiful space gives room to separate dining and living rooms, lanais, covered swimming pools, breakfast nooks, attic rooms, and more.  Larger four-bedroom lakeside mini-mansions with three-car garages, golf vistas and mature trees surrounding the property are usually listed around $645K.

Golf memberships are optional at Bent Tree, and residents have even more golf courses to choose from.  The carefully manicured landscaping and the large space in between homes at The Woodlands gives children and families plenty of room to enjoy.  The Woodlands may feature a lot of privacy, but they are by no means isolated. Lakeview Elementary, Sarasota Middle and Sarasota High Schools are located nearby, and parents will find various private schools and academies west of I-75.

The Woodlands subdivisions connect to Sarasota via Proctor and Clark Roads.  All suburban comforts can be found along these two roads; Proctor Road leads to South Sarasota and Clark Road connects Sarasota with Siesta Key in less than 30 minutes.
